Greetings from the Media Center at Christa McAuliffe! In an age of information, acquiring information literacy skills and a commitment for lifelong reading and learning become paramount. In the school library media center, students develop critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills as they use a variety of resources to meet the demands of today’s curriculum. The School Library/Media Center is an integral part of the total school community. Our mission is to prepare students to become effective, informed users of information, to cultivate a love for reading and to instill a desire for life-long learning.
Students in K-5th grade will have Media/Library class each week for a minimum of 40 minutes. The media/library curriculum focuses on core knowledge. In addition to the lesson, your child will have the opportunity to return and borrow library books each week.
Look for our book fairs that come in the Fall and Spring. These help connect your kids with books they want to read. If anyone would like to volunteer, please contact the parent volunteer coordinator.
