Welcome to Physical Education Class!  Students will need to have sneakers on to participate for safety reasons. Our goal as educators is to teach basic physical education skills to children that can be applied through out life. In this class we promote teamwork while exercising and having fun.  We focus on games, individual and dual sports and team sports.  We promote fair play, being honest and good sportsmanship.  We teach the students to respect different ability levels while providing maximum opportunities for all children.  We have two big events through out the year that are a blast.  Students look forward to field day which is at the end of the school year.  This is a day when all the classes are outside participating in a bunch of fun water activities. Every year we look forward to it.  We also like to encourage our students to get involved in our community.  We do this by participating in Jump Rope for Heart and raising money for the American Heart Association.  This event promotes awareness of heart disease and teaches our students how important it is to be fit and healthy.  We look forward to a great year in physical education class!

Ms. Wendy Hearyman		Hi, I graduated from Bridgewater State College in Bridgewater, Massachusetts.  I have a B.S. in PreK-12 physical education.  This is my fifth year of teaching in Florida.  I am originally from IL and have lived in Florida for 5 years
Mrs. Dawn Russell		My name is Dawn Russell, I have worked with children for over 17 years. Teaching is where my heart has always been. I attended Broward Community College and Florida Atlantic University for Early Childhood Education. It is such a pleasure to be working in the Physical Education Department at Christa McAuliffe Charter Elementary. I am a true Floridian, I was born and raised in South Florida and have always been proud to call this my home. I'm looking forward to many more years in the educational system.
